Mike Saldutte

Mike is an over 20-year police veteran for the Pittsburgh Police. Mike is currently the lead use of force instructor for the Pittsburgh Police. Primarily, Mike oversees the self-defense and physical fitness training for the bureau. Mike is responsible for training both in-service and recruit officers. Mike serves on a number of Use of Force committees for both the city and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Mike is well versed and a train the trainer in areas of defensive tactics, TASER, OC, and firearms. Mike is a member of the bureau's SWAT team where he serves as a team leader. In 2019 Mike was awarded the Krav Maga Worldwide Marni Levine Fighting Spirit Award (along with Tim Matson) for his heroic actions during an active shooter event at the Tree of Life Synagogue. Mike carries the rank of Expert 1 Instructor with Krav Maga Worldwide and is a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiujitsu under the Pedro Sauer BJJ Association. Mike also holds a degree from Westminister College.
